Strength & Learning through Horses
- SLTH offers individually tailored equine-assisted therapy, well-being and alternative education programmes to young people aged 7 to 25.
- It has a 12 year track record of achieving positive outcomes for young people where traditional therapy and education services have failed.
- By interacting with horses, young people develop capacities in emotion regulation, perspective-taking, communication and collaboration.
- Most of their programmes are delivered from their yard in Barnet on the outskirts of North London while their outreach programme reaches young people in prisons or inpatient units.
- Plan to increase capacity from 500 to 1,000 in Barnet and explore opportunities to expand to other parts of the UK.
- Chimo funded the hiring of a new Operations Director and the purchase a new CRM system.
